The Gardens Ethos

Where does your child’s food and the products we use on them come from? The Gardens Childcare ethos is to provide organic, ethically sourced products and support good animal welfare.

We believe in providing well balanced, healthy and nutritious meals for all our nursery children, and that a healthy diet and physical activity positively impacts a child's mental wellbeing. Our menus are created to include foods that aid concentration, such as wholemeal foods, organic and free range meat, fish, fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables.  All our food is organic (99%) and free of additives and sugar and is made from scratch daily by our nursery cooks.

We provide HiPP Organic Formula Milk daily for all the babies up until the age of one. We provide organic, full fat milk, daily to children over one.  Our glass baby bottles with a silicone sleeve are safe for our babies to use.

Most 'learning' at the nursery is done in the morning when the children are at their most receptive following our nutritious breakfasts of organic porridge, free range scrambled eggs on homemade wholemeal toast, pancakes, fresh toast.  We offer savoury snacks and have cut out all refined sugar (using natural sugars such as maple syrup in treat foods) to avoid 'sugar spike and crash' syndrome which has a detrimental effect on mental stimulation and learning.

Our grass fed animals have a truly free-range life with plenty of fresh air and green fields to grow and thrive'.
